Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – City Tour & Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a brief Kigali city tour, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local craft markets, offering insight into Rwanda’s inspiring journey and culture.

After lunch, depart for Nyungwe Forest National Park, driving through Rwanda’s breathtaking countryside of rolling hills and tea plantations. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon, check in, and enjoy dinner surrounded by pristine rainforest wilderness.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on your chimpanzee trekking experience. Nyungwe is home to over 500 chimpanzees, and the trek offers thrilling encounters as these energetic primates move through the forest canopy.

After returning to the lodge for lunch, spend the afternoon at leisure or opt for an optional Canopy Walk, suspended high above the forest floor, offering spectacular views and birdlife sightings.

Day 3: Nyungwe Forest – Scenic Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Arrive at your lodge in the Virunga region in the late afternoon. Settle in, enjoy the cool mountain air, and receive a briefing in preparation for your gorilla trekking adventure the following day.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Today is the highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing before being assigned a habituated gorilla family.

Accompanied by expert trackers and rangers, trek through bamboo forests and volcanic terrain in search of the mountain gorillas. Once located, you will spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat—an emotional, humbling, and unforgettable wildlife encounter.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing or enjoying optional cultural visits around the park.

Day 5: Optional Golden Monkey Trek or Cultural Experience
