Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Rushaga Sector

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Entebbe or Kampala, driving southwest through rolling hills, tea plantations, and rural villages en route to Bwindi. The journey offers scenic stops and photo opportunities as you approach the ancient rainforest.

Arrive in the Rushaga sector in the late afternoon and check in to your lodge surrounded by forested hills. Spend the evening relaxing, enjoying dinner, and attending a pre-trek briefing from your guide to prepare for the next day’s Gorilla Habituation Experience.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience in Rushaga

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Rushaga briefing point where Uganda Wildlife Authority guides explain the rules and objectives of gorilla habituation. You then set off into the forest with researchers, trackers, and rangers in search of a semi-habituated gorilla family.

Once located, you will spend up to four hours observing gorilla behavior—feeding, nesting, social interactions, and vocal communication—while researchers document progress. This extended time allows for exceptional photography and a deeper understanding of gorilla conservation. After the experience, trek back and return to your lodge for a well-earned rest.

Day 3: Return Transfer to Entebbe / Kampala

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before beginning your return journey to Entebbe or Kampala.
