Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Entebbe or Kampala, heading southwest through Uganda’s rolling countryside, tea plantations, and scenic highlands. En route, enjoy stops for photography and refreshments as you journey toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Arrive in the afternoon, check in to your lodge, and spend the rest of the day relaxing amidst forest sounds in preparation for the next day’s unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You’ll then begin your guided gorilla trekking safari, hiking through dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family.

Once located, you’ll spend one magical hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat—watching silverbacks, mothers, and juveniles interact at close range. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and a relaxed afternoon, reflecting on one of Africa’s most profound wildlife encounters.

Day 3: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park

This morning, depart Bwindi and drive north toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through dramatic escarpments and fertile farmlands. The journey offers spectacular views of the Albertine Rift Valley.

Arrive in the park in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise, one of Uganda’s top wildlife experiences. The cruise offers close-up sightings of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and an incredible variety of water birds.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking & Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, head to Kyambura Gorge or Kalinzu Forest for chimpanzee tracking. Guided by expert trackers, you’ll follow the calls of chimps through the forest, witnessing their energetic behavior and social interactions.

In the afternoon, enjoy a classic savannah game drive across the Kasenyi plains, searching for lions, leopards, elephants, Uganda kob, and buffalo. The day ends with a scenic sunset back at your lodge.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive & Return to Entebbe

Start the day with an early morning game drive, when wildlife activity is at its peak. After breakfast, begin your return journey to Entebbe or Kampala, with lunch stops along the way.

Arrive in the late afternoon, marking the end of your 5-day Uganda gorilla, chimpanzee & wildlife safari.
