3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Golden Monkey Safari

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide. After a short briefing, begin a scenic drive northwards through Rwanda’s lush countryside toward Volcanoes National Park, home to the country’s mountain gorillas.

Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy an optional Kigali city tour, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, artisan markets, or cultural sites. Continue to Musanze, arriving at your lodge in time for lunch or an early dinner. Spend the evening relaxing, enjoying views of the Virunga volcanoes, and preparing for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers. You will be assigned a gorilla family and begin your guided trek through bamboo forests and volcanic slopes.

The trek duration varies from 1 to 5 hours depending on gorilla movements, but the reward is unforgettable—one magical hour spent observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Watch silverbacks, mothers, and playful juveniles interact at close range, an experience that ranks among Africa’s most emotional wildlife encounters.

After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. The afternoon is at leisure, or you may opt for a community visit, cultural experience, or nature walk around the park.
