3-Day Classic Bwindi Gorilla Trek

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Entebbe or Kampala, heading southwest toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive is scenic and rewarding, passing through rolling hills, traditional villages, tea plantations, and lush farmlands. Along the way, you may stop for lunch and photo opportunities as the landscape gradually transforms into forested highlands.

Arrive in the Bwindi region in the late afternoon and check in at your lodge, set against the backdrop of the rainforest. Spend the evening relaxing, listening to forest sounds, and receiving a briefing about the next day’s gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority guides. You’ll be assigned a gorilla family and begin your trek into the dense forest, accompanied by experienced rangers and trackers. The trek can take anywhere from one to several hours depending on the gorillas’ movements, but every step is part of the adventure.

Once you encounter the gorillas, you will spend a magical and intimate one hour observing them in their natural habitat—watching them feed, groom, play, and interact. This close encounter is often described as life-changing. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure, reflecting on the experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before beginning your return journey. Depending on your preference and flight schedule, you may drive back to Entebbe/Kampala or connect to a domestic flight from a nearby airstrip. The drive back offers another chance to enjoy Uganda’s scenic countryside and cultural landscapes.

Arrive in Entebbe or Kampala later in the day, marking the end of your 3-Day Classic Bwindi Gorilla Trek—a short but powerful safari that delivers one of Africa’s most unforgettable wildlife encounters.
